Mama's back in the workforce

So, since taking time off to have my two beautiful children, I have really been itching to get back to doing something that uses my educated brain cells. On a whim, I submitted my resume to a community college here in Fort Wayne and it was a success because I will be teaching 2 classes there this fall:) I'm really excited to get back to teaching since it's been about 3 years since I was teaching college classes. Lucky for me, this school is really flexible and I will be teaching in the evenings, so I get to spend the days with my kids and then teach 2 nights a week! This semester I will be teaching a public speaking course and a lifestyle course in finance (I know, way out of my comfort zone since I'm a communication person, but I thought it would be a great opportunity to try something new!), plus getting certified in online courses so I can teach those in the spring.

Other than that, we have been enjoying having Artie off work this week. It has been so nice to have extra hands during the day! We haven't done much and are basically just trying to establish some order in the house, finally, since having Spencer home. Ok, time to feed the little guy-hope everyone's having a great start to the week:)

The solution to crazy Avie in stores...the popcorn combo with an icee (at least at Target). Many have suggested this before and I finally got brave enough to introduce Avery to popcorn (her pediatrician said they don't like kids to have popcorn until the age of 3). We also found that at a local grocery store they have cars on the bottom of carts for the kids to ride in and she enjoyed that long enough for us to do our shopping!

My grandparents finally got to meet Spencer this week! They were beyond thrilled to get to meet our little miracle:)

Avery thought it was the coolest thing that Great Grandma and Grandpa had a bird in the house-their pet, Angel!

Congrats Steph! That's fabulous for you, especially since the time works out so well too! You'll be great! As much as you are itching to get back, I am so wishing that I didn't have to go back - the irony. Love you guys!

Congrats Steph! That sounds so exciting. Your students will be lucky. I would love to take a class taught by you.

I hope things are settling down into a routine at home.

I have to tell you that I am super impressed that you have been getting some runs in. Way to go!

Congrats on the new job, Steph! I have the bug to head back to work- but won't for another 2 years- like you I hope to teach college- but in nursing... we shall see:)
The popcorn/soda combo is my best friend.
So are the truck carts.
They give me 20-30 minutes of peace while I shop.

Congratulations on your job! That's such a cool thing to do- I LOVE teaching- even if it's in the dance studio and not an actual classroom. You are so much more brave than I am for wanting to get back at it with 2 at home (at the same time, you're smart to do something out of the house for some sanity!).

Love the pic of Avery in the cart! Elizabeth prefers Starbucks Frappucinos to Icees though...typical- she drinks all of mine;)

Love,
C:)

Congrats on the job- that is so exciting and I'm sure you will be great at it! It is always nice to be able to get in some adult conversation during your days to maintain some sanity!

I will definitely be trying out the popcorn and drink combo sometime in the near future with Dylan I am sure as I basically had to do the same while at the beach and the outlets with Dylan not too long ago!

Congrats on your new job! That sounds like the perfect schedule for you, and a great way to have something for yourself! I'd love to try teaching a class where I work, but I'm still shying away from it for some reason. Enjoy the rest of your summer before you get back to teaching!
