A Snowy Night

The flu has hit our house this week. Artie and Avery had it first on Sunday and then I was lucky #3 on Tuesday. Artie and I never were able to get our flu shots this year because of the huge scare, our doctor never had any available. Avery had the flu mist for the first time at her 2 yr check up (she was already getting shots so we didn't want to give her another if she could have the mist) and Spencer had his flu shot at his 6 month visit. Well, we think that possibly the mist was not very effective for Avery and that she maybe didn't get the full benefit of it because it wasn't completely inhaled, thus, she was able to catch this flu bug. Spencer is still hanging on resisting it, but he has been so fussy and having trouble sleeping the last few days. His flu shot was supposed to take 3 weeks for complete immunity, it had only been 2. So, we will see what happens. Ugh. I have to say, having a house full of sick people-especially right before Christmas is not the merriest of things. Also, when you're a stay-at-home mom and your sick, you can't exactly take a sick day. At least I was my absolute sickest in the hours after Artie was home from work.

So, while I was reeling with stomach pain Tuesday night, we got our first snow. It came quickly and was gone by the next morning. After Avery had her bath that night and saw all the snow falling, she got so excited and wanted to go out and play. Artie, not being able to resist his daughter, got her bundled up-with jammies already on-and took her outside for a few minutes to enjoy the white stuff!

Looking so cute in all her purple and pink glory!

I love this one, the snow flakes look like little sparkly flecks in the flash of the camera. Magical:)

Here's my Spencer all bundled up in his new hat and coat-the kid's growing like a monster and already on hat and coat #2 of this winter season!

A few others from the week...
My mom's new puppy, Captain Jack. He loved Avery, she was just his size-for now! They adopted him from the shelter and he's the softest, cutest little thing! Which, if you're looking for some place to donate to this holiday season (or any time of the year) check with your local animal shelter. They are always in need of towels, blankets, toys, sheets, etc. Even if you just have some old sheets, blankets or towels around your house, don't just throw them away, take them to the shelter:)

My daughter's first experience with curlers:) Honestly, she loves putting these in her hair and playing with them so I decided to really put them in her hair to give her some volume for her pictures last week! It worked, I kept them in until we got to the picture place (they are just velcro rollers) and the cold air didn't have a change to flatten her hair (until pics were done anyway)!

Happy Weekend!

I hope you all are feeling better! We have had colds this week too but thank goodness that's all it seems to be so far. The snow pics are so cute! Spencer has some wide eyes- he is growing up so much. Both of the kiddos are adorable. Thank you so much for the shout-out for my scrapbooking site- I really appreciate it:) Have a great weekend!
love,
C:)

I hope that you are all feeling better soon and I hope that Spencer avoids the flu completely! How exciting - the first snow. I can't wait for Colten to experience the snow (but I'm not looking forward to driving in it...) Let's talk soon! Love you guys!
