6 Month Old Baby in Da House!!

Mr. Spencer turned 6 months old Friday and we celebrated by having a great check up at the doctor!! Since Spencer's had his "ordeal," going to the doctor with him is a real stresser. But, the little man is doing really well (thankfully!). We are going to schedule a follow up ECHO to check on the PFO murmur that he was born with, but the doctor did not hear it at this check up or his four month check up...but, we're going to be sure and have it checked. So here are his latest stats: weight-16 lbs. (25th percentile), length-26 1/4 inches (30th percentile) and head-17 1/4 inches (50th percentile). In other Spencer happenings, he is now on only 3 meals and 2 naps a day:) He is sleeping 12 hours every night and eating like a champ! He now gets cereal and fruit for breakfast, fruit and veggie for lunch and dinner to go along with his formula. He is absolutely loving his food and we have had to majorly stock up because he is eating at least two #2's at each meal!!

Yay for the ducky tub! Avery loved this tub, and this week, we put Spencer in it for the first time-he loved it because he could kick! By the way, check out that scar now (if you can find it!!) compared to this. Isn't it amazing how well babies heal!

We took the kids to the park today because it got in the 50's and Avery was in some serious need of fresh air (the kid is nuts right now!!) So, here is Spencer enjoying his first swing:)

Now, this is what enjoying the swing really looks like!

Such a big girl now at the park.

She was just too stinkin' adorable:)

Tunnel time...there was a time when Avery wouldn't step foot in these, now she just loves going through them (especially if mommy or daddy are at the other end!).

Spencer's first trip down the slide...he really didn't know what to think!

I have made it through the first week with Jake gone. I am becoming more adjusted to the idea of him as a soldier, but it is still a bit surreal. If you didn't get to see my update on the last blog, Jake is in Oklahoma instead of Missouri, but he seems to be doing really well. I have gotten to talk to him since he's been there and he seems to really be falling into his routines and making friends quickly. He is supposed to start actual basic on Wednesday (he is currently in "reception" where they learn all of the formations and chants and do all of the medical work ups, sign paperwork and get all of their military uniforms), however, there is a chance that if he is not in the first 500 in the alphabet that are there, he won't get to start until January! That would be a real bummer so we're hoping he's in that first 500 (though with a last name beginning with R, I'm not sure if his odds are good). We're so proud of Uncle Jake in this house and can't wait to see him in his uniform at Christmas:)!!

Saturday, I got a much needed break from my awesome (but tiring) kids. So, Artie and I headed out to see New Moon. I liked it, but Artie was a bit confused (even though he'd seen Twilight). I think that it follows the book well, but if you haven't read the book you may have a hard time tying things together without being able to fill in the holes (from what you know from the book). But for fans of the book, it was great!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Avery's coat is adorable.

Glad you and Artie got to get away for an evening.

I hope your brother is doing well.

Wow, if you hadn't mentioned the scar, I never would have even noticed!! Spencer looks great and he is SO big! It's amazing seeing him in the tub and in the swing already....
Great day at the park! Looks like Avery had a blast:) I'm glad you got to have a fun night out too!

(P.S. I do the same thing- tell E she's my favorite girl and Jacob that he's my best little man- it's so fun to be able to do that when you have one of each;)

We will be praying for your brother!

Love,
C:)
